Black Tag Junior Attendance System
Each junior student should collect a black tag after each lesson they attend.
This tag goes on the labelled end of the belt.
A beginner needs 8 tags to be eligible for red belt.
A red belt needs 16 tags to be eligible for yellow belt.
Between yellow and orange belt 16 tags are required to be eligible for testing to the next level.
After that 22 tags are required for testing.
When a student has 8 tags they should represent that by removing them all and replacing them with one thick tag (essentially two tags placed so the edges meet).
This system is a guideline for the juniors and the instructors. It allows us to check attendance at a glance and make sure that the progress of the student is reflecting their attendance.
16 tags do not mean automatic eligibility for promotion.
A student must have the required amount of tags, 4 blue tags (for behaviour) and be of the required standard to take their test. If all of these requirements are met then they will be promoted pending the result of their test.
